Hampson Industries Plc was founded in 1947 in West Bromwich in the UK.
Providing best-in-class fully integrated aerospace engineering, aerospace manufacturing and assembly solutions at the lowest whole life cost, we have grown rapidly. Today, we employ approximately 1,400 people across three continents. The major milestones in the development of the Group are briefly summarised below:

| 1990's: | Our industrial cleaning and metals businesses are divested. |
| 1997: | We acquire Arabis PLC Machining Group. |
| 2001-4: | The Group undergoes extensive rationalisation and restructuring. |
| 2003: | The Eclipse VLJ empennage contract is secured. |
| 2004: | We complete the US $43m acquisition of Texstars Inc. |
| 2005: | We invest US $20m in aerospace assembly and high-speed machining capabilities. |
| 2005: | The acquisitions of Coast Composites, Inc and Lamsco West, Inc are completed. |
| 2005: | Our share capital is consolidated with one 25p share replacing five 5p shares. |
| 2005-06: | Three successful equity raisings are completed. |
| 2006: | We open our ground-breaking greenfield manufacturing facility in Bangalore, India. |
| 2006: | We are admitted to the FTSE Small Cap Index. |
| 2007: | We acquire Composites Horizons, Inc. |
| 2007: | The disposals of Lattimer Limited and I S Parts International, Inc. are completed. |
| 2008: | Odyssey Industries, Inc. and Global Tooling Systems, Inc. are acquired. |
| 2009: | Group revenue exceeds £250m for the first time and profits more than double. |
| 2010: | Disposal of Hampson Precision Automotive Limited |
| 2010: | Hampson appoints new Chief Executive Norman D. Jordan |
| 2011: | Hampson appoints Ram Swamy as Group Finance Director |
| 2011: | Disposal of shims businesses |
