Hampson Precision Automotive is a specialist manufacturer of small, medium-to-high volume, high precision components for automotive turbochargers, advance fuel delivery systems, fluid power and similar close tolerance applications.
Operating to tolerances measured in microns, quality, cost and delivery are assured through the widespread use of statistical process control (“SPC”), Lean production systems using state-of-the-art machine tools and advanced robotic handling systems.
Manufacturing is based at two sites in Lancashire, UK and Bangalore, India, providing not only scalable and responsive manufacturing capacity but also the full benefits of integrated low cost manufacturing and sourcing.
Together, the UK and Indian operations are equipped with over 200 CNC machine tools and 60 robots capable of continuous 24/7 usage.
Building on this niche capability, in-house developed technology enables the manufacture of rotating turbocharger shaft & wheel assemblies using robot controlled, electron-beam welding and integrated CNC high precision balancing, to world-leading tolerances of less than 1 micron.
