Corporate Strategy
We are committed to generating value for our Shareholders in the form of both increases in the market value of our shares and the return to paying dividends to our Shareholders. Our business strategy for creating value has two elements of focus:
- To grow our business in aerospace manufacturing, in sectors where our technology and customer relationships mean we hold positions in attractive markets which we can leverage, to provide both integrated and standalone solutions to our customers, worldwide
- To eliminate waste and deliver continuously improving operational performance in all of our businesses through a variety of actions
The principal ways that we are implementing this strategy are as follows:
- By investing in the latest manufacturing technologies that provide us with differentiated capability enabling us to reduce manufacturing cycle times, improve efficiencies and our customers with a competitive advantage through a best value, highest quality solution;
- By leveraging the combined strengths and capabilities of our businesses to offer a more compelling value proposition to our global aerospace customers, particularly through the combination of our expertise and strength in aerospace tooling design with the ability to supply integrated solutions for the manufacturing and supply of advanced high temperature composite tools and products;
- By extending our global footprint and supporting our customers’ strategies to source more of their requirements from higher growth, lower cost economies such as India. We expect our facility in Bangalore to take on an increasing level of importance within the Group going forward, supporting our aerospace manufacturing, aerospace machining and aerospace tooling business;
- By investing in and making effective use of the most advanced information technology to help manage our business. We are in the process of implementing world-class enterprise software from SAP across our larger business units. This will enable us to benefit from proven best-in-class processes to drive greater efficiency into our operations and assist with the capture of benefits from our “Lean Enterprise” initiatives;
- By establishing a team-based culture and fostering employee empowerment performance culture this enables our teams to not only measure the effectiveness of their performance but to relate this to key actions that drive the creation of value;
- By encouraging and incentivising our people to deliver higher performance levels and aligning rewards to results to support the creation of long-term value;
- By acting decisively and with speed whilst maintaining the highest standards of governance and integrity in all that we do
